Bahia is in a tropical zone and the climate is sufficiently hot almost all the year. There is not a characteristic winter temperature as most tourists knows from a temperated climate.
Summer in Brazil is from December to March, although in Bahia it is almost always hot and sunny, with temperatures of up to 33°C (91°F). The humidity can sometimes be up to 60%. Although this is the dry season all along the coast, inland in the Chapada Diamantina it is wetter than during the rest of the year.
July and August is known as the rainy season, the temperature drops to around 26°C (79°F) and the rainfall is heavier than throughout other months. There are still many sunny days during these months and shorts and a t-shirt can always be worn.
