Safety Advices

If you want enjoy the carnival without problems, here are some very useful and recommended pieces of advice:

  • Take enough money with you to spend the whole day or night
  • Bring a copy of an identity or an authenticated document with you
  • It is important to bring a note with the address of the place you live and the telephone number for contact
  • Leave jewels and expensive objectives in the place you are as a guest
  • Use comfortable sneakers. Using sandals will not be a good idea to wear.
  • It's advisable to go out in small groups
  • Do not leave the carnival block during their course
  • If you need to cross the street during the course of the carnival block, wait in a safe place until the song is over or the eletric trio passes
  • Do not bring expensive cameras with you. Use one-time cameras if nessesary.
  • Avoid using bags or purses during the carnival
  • Don't bring cellular phone with you. It is better to buy phone cards and use the public telephones
  • Before entering the streets, appoint a place and time to meet the group beforehand. In case of getting lost.
  • Eat light foods
  • Drink a lot of mineral water
  • Step fast aside when police groups patrol, their patience tend to be very low against those persons that do not step aside or pay respect.
