By sea, cuise ships make port in Salvador, Porto Seguro and Ilhéus, and for smaller vessels there is a wide variety of marinas and docking sites all along the coast of Bahia.

Ferry-Boat - Terminal Marítimo de São Joaquim
São Joaquim Maritime Terminal, popularly known as “Ferry Boat”, offers the services of 10 boats that link Salvador to Itaparica Island.

The boat named “Morro de São Paulo” takes only 20 minutes to get to the island, and can be charted by tourists interested in knowing the attrcations of Todos os Santos Bay. There are also two double deck ferries (with a capacity of 90 small vehicles), six standard ferries (capacity of 60 small cars), and a special ferry that can carry up to 170 vehicles with the same leve of comfort of that of the “Morro de São Paulo” (airconditioning, couches, and attendants on board). Tourists can also find snack bars, newsstands, and electronic cashiers that stay open all hours in the terminal

Centro Náutico da Bahia
Centro Náutico da Bahia offers a regular boat service to Itaparíca Island, dock space for boats and sailboats with water and power, pier, mooring and embarkation services for other types of vessels such as schooners, saveiros and small ships.

It also supplies ice and beverages, having a snack bar, a souvenir store , as well as boats for rent. In the marina are moored sailboats from other countries, some of them participating in nautical events that happen in Bahia from time to time. It’s open Mondays through Sundays, from 7am to 7pm.
